You're not alone. Power rankings, "who wins Worlds?" polls and finals predictions are everywhere on Reddit, X and YouTube. We don't only want to know who is good. We want to know whether our team has a real shot at lifting the cup in Brooklyn.
So here is my personal Worlds 2026 tier list, from S tier (the teams I'd bet on) to D tier (the ones who need a miracle). It comes from summer form, rosters and analyst rankings, not from a crystal ball.
New to this year's tournament? Start with our Worlds 2026 schedule and format guide so you know exactly when your team plays, then read how the Swiss Stage works to see what it takes to reach the knockouts. And if you're wondering why Korean teams keep landing in the top tiers, our LCK vs LPL vs LEC region strength breakdown explains it.
A quick note: Worlds is a best-of-five lottery where drafts, patches and nerves change everything. Nobody in D tier is a bad team, and nobody in S tier is guaranteed anything. This is only my view as of October 8, a week before the first match on October 15. The final is on November 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
My Full Worlds 2026 Tier List Overview
- S Tier: Gen.G, HLE
- A Tier: T1, BLG, Anyone's Legend
- B Tier: G2, Karmine Corp, Top Esports, Dplus KIA
- C Tier: Invictus Gaming, Movistar KOI, Team Liquid, LYON
- D Tier: Cloud9, Team Secret Whales, CTBC Flying Oyster, MVK Esports, LOS, FURIA
S Tier: The Teams I'd Bet On
Gen.G, the Team With No Weak Lane. You know the friend who never has a bad day? That's Gen.G. They enter as the LCK's No. 1 seed, Kiin posted the highest 15-minute gold lead among LCK top laners in the Season Finals, Canyon brings veteran jungle control, and Duro and Viper give them one of the strongest bot lanes anywhere. Analysts at Hotspawn describe the whole roster as looking unstoppable right now. If you want a team that doesn't throw games, this is it.
HLE, the Reigning MSI Champions. Hanwha Life Esports already beat the world once this year, and that MSI 2026 title is the reason the LCK got a fourth Worlds seed. Zeus in the top lane, Gumayusi in the bot lane and Delight in support (ranked in Hotspawn's top three supports) make a lineup that scares everyone. Their only question is consistency, not talent.
A Tier: Dangerous, Proven, Easy to Believe In
T1, the Dynasty That Won't Quit. Yes, they're the three-time defending champions (2023, 2024, 2025). No, you shouldn't write them off. Doran has the explosive moments to carry games, though he needs to stop giving back leads. T1 are in A tier only because the form is shakier than in previous years. The best non-favourite in the field.
Bilibili Gaming, the Talent-Heavy Wildcard. BLG got in on championship points, and jungler Xun has strong KDA and assist numbers. Hotspawn's verdict is that the only thing that can stop BLG is themselves, and they were finalists against T1 in 2024. When the five are synced they beat anyone. When they aren't, they can lose to anyone.
Anyone's Legend, China's Top Seed. AL won LPL Split 3 and arrive as China's highest-ranked team. Breathe has changed the narrative around his top lane play, Tarzan sits near the top of the jungle power rankings, and Hope posts some of the lowest death counts in the LPL Grand Finals. Well-rounded and rarely self-destructive, but they still have to prove they can win the biggest series.
B Tier: Great Teams, Not Always My Pick
G2 Esports, the Best of the West. G2 won LEC Summer 2026 and head to Worlds as Europe's No. 1 seed. Hans Sama is in arguably the best form of his career, and his 6.7 KDA through the LEC Playoffs and Finals was far ahead of everyone else. Labrov is also ranked among the top supports at Worlds. I rank them B only because their realistic ceiling is a semifinal.
Karmine Corp, the Blue Wall With Upside. KC reached the grand final of the Esports World Cup, the biggest moment in the organisation's history, but missed out at MSI and finished the Summer Split quieter than they'd have liked. Real talent, still waiting to prove it away from home.
Top Esports, the Coin Flip. TES came through the LPL Regional Finals, with top laner Zuian emerging as one of the LPL's biggest surprises this year. JackeyLove is the wild card, able to play world-class games and baffling ones back to back. High variance makes them a nightmare to prepare for, and also a team that can go out early.
Dplus KIA, the Fourth Korean Seed. DK took the LCK's last Worlds spot, and a Korean team is never a team you want to face in a knockout. I put them in B tier because I have less recent evidence on them than on the teams above.
C Tier: Worth Watching, But It Takes a Good Draw
Invictus Gaming, the TheShy Comeback. TheShy is back at Worlds with IG after missing two entire splits, and an impressive summer run got him here. The nostalgia is real. The question is whether the whole roster can keep up.
Movistar KOI, Europe's No. 2 Seed. KOI earned their spot as the LEC's second team, and Hotspawn's jungle and support lists place their players near the bottom of the field. They can win a game, but a series is harder.
Team Liquid, the LCS Champions. Support CoreJJ led them to the LCS Summer title after beating LYON in the final. A good story, though the LCS still has the toughest road against the Korean and Chinese teams.
LYON, the Inspired Underdog. Jungler Inspired is considered by many the best jungler in the West, and he drives LYON despite a low kill participation of 60% in the LCS Summer Split. A single star can win games, but rarely a whole bracket.
D Tier: The Ones Who Need a Miracle
Cloud9, Team Secret Whales, CTBC Flying Oyster, MVK Esports, LOS and FURIA. This is where I'd be honest with you: the odds are against them, and a Swiss Stage win would be one of the biggest upsets of the tournament. Cloud9 came in as the LCS's third seed. Team Secret Whales, CTBC Flying Oyster and MVK Esports are the LCP's three teams, and LOS and FURIA are Brazil's two. D tier here means "hardest path to the knockouts," not "worst team." Every one of them earned a Worlds slot, and every one of them can ruin someone's bracket.
Two Questions Everyone Asks
1. Can T1 really win a fourth straight title? It's possible, but it isn't the most likely outcome. T1 have proven repeatedly that they peak at Worlds, yet Gen.G and HLE are both stronger on paper. A fourth straight win means beating a Korean rival in a bracket that looks tougher than in previous years. I'd call them the best non-favourite in the tournament.
2. Is this the year a non-Korean team wins? BLG and Anyone's Legend are the best bets, and both have the talent. But the LCK carries the highest regional strength score of the three big regions, and four Korean teams are in the field. Unless a Chinese team gets a favourable bracket, Korea remains the safest answer.

Final Thoughts
A tier list can't tell you who will lift the cup. But it can help you see why some teams feel like safe bets and others feel like a challenge. Use this list for fun, not as a rulebook, and check back as the Swiss Stage unfolds.
Your turn: which team are you backing, and which tier would you put them in? Tell me in the comments. Do you agree with my list, or did I treat your team unfairly?
