  1. Resident Evil (2026)

    Directed by Zach Cregger, this second reboot stars Austin Abrams as Bryan, a medical courier whose delivery to Raccoon City strands him inside a full-scale viral outbreak. Unlike the Anderson films built around Milla Jovovich's Alice, it draws on Capcom's game lore and is set in 2026 rather than the 1998 origin. Constantin Film and Sony released it theatrically on September 18, 2026.

  2. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

    Johannes Roberts directed this 2021 reboot, which adapts the first two Capcom games in a 1998 setting as Claire Redfield searches for her brother Chris while Raccoon City collapses under a T-virus outbreak. Kaya Scodelario, Robbie Amell, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hopper, and Avan Jogia play the core game characters. It discards the Alice-led Anderson continuity to rebuild the story directly from the games.

  3. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

    The sixth and final entry of Paul W. S. Anderson's Alice-led series, released in 2016/2017. Betrayed by Albert Wesker, Alice must return to the Hive beneath Raccoon City, where Umbrella gathers its forces for a last strike against humanity's survivors. Milla Jovovich returns as Alice; the film ties the saga back to its origin.

  4. Resident Evil: Retribution

    The fifth Anderson installment, released in 2012, catches Alice as a captive of Umbrella after the events of Afterlife; she fights through simulated city environments inside an underwater facility to escape, joined by game characters Ada Wong (Li Bingbing) and a mind-controlled Jill Valentine. Milla Jovovich returns, continuing the series' escalation toward its 2016 finale.

  5. Resident Evil: Afterlife

    Paul W. S. Anderson returned to direct this 2010 fourth installment, the franchise's first shot in 3D. Alice assaults Umbrella's Tokyo headquarters with her clone army, loses her powers after Albert Wesker's ambush, and later rescues an amnesiac Claire Redfield. The pair reunite with Chris Redfield in a Los Angeles prison, discovering that the broadcast sanctuary 'Arcadia' is a trap, and introducing the game series' Redfield siblings into the film continuity.

  6. Resident Evil: Extinction

    Russell Mulcahy's 2007 third chapter moves the series into a desolate, sun-scorched world where the T-virus has nearly wiped out humanity. A now-superhuman Alice travels with Claire Redfield's survivor convoy toward an Alaskan sanctuary while Umbrella scientist Dr. Isaacs uses her blood to engineer clones and stronger undead. Set largely in the Nevada desert and a ruined Las Vegas, it shifts the franchise toward road-warrior action.

  7. Resident Evil: Apocalypse

    Alexander Witt's 2004 sequel picks up where the first film ended, as the T-virus outbreak engulfs Raccoon City. Milla Jovovich's Alice escapes Umbrella's custody and joins Jill Valentine, Carlos Olivera, and other survivors while the bioweapon Nemesis hunts them. Umbrella seals the city and, before a nuclear strike destroys it, the group fights toward extraction, expanding the series from a single facility to a city-wide catastrophe.

  8. Resident Evil (2002)

    Paul W. S. Anderson's 2002 series opener stars Milla Jovovich as Alice, an amnesiac who awakens inside the Hive, a secret Umbrella Corporation laboratory beneath Raccoon City. When the T-virus escapes, the facility's Red Queen AI seals it, and a commando team must fight mutated staff and undead creatures. The film loosely adapts Capcom's games and establishes the franchise's core conflict between Alice and Umbrella.

    Directed by Takanori Tsujimoto, this 2017 CG feature is the third in Capcom's animated Resident Evil line. After an arms dealer and grieving widower Glenn Arias unleashes a new trigger-based A-virus, B.S.A.A. captain Chris Redfield recruits D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy and Professor Rebecca Chambers to stop a mass outbreak threatening New York City.

  11. Resident Evil: Damnation

    The second CG entry, released in 2012, acts as a prelude to Resident Evil 6. U.S. agent Leon S. Kennedy is sent into the fictional Eastern Slav Republic, a post-Soviet state using bio-organic weapons in civil war, where he reconnects with Ada Wong and uncovers a plot involving controlled Plagas parasites and President Svetlana Belikova.

    Capcom's first all-CG Resident Evil film, released in 2008, is set seven years after the Raccoon City incident. A T-virus outbreak at Harvardville Airport reunites U.S. agent Leon S. Kennedy with Terrasave worker Claire Redfield, leading them to confront a rogue warrior seeking revenge and a mutated G-virus creature.
